Heritage Day 2026 on 13 September
"NetzWERKE: Monuments & Infrastructure"
The nationwide Open Monuments Day will take place on Sunday 13 September 2026 under the theme “NetzWERKE: Monuments & Infrastructure”.
Once again this year, selected historic sites in our town will open their doors to the public.
In line with the national theme, this year’s focus is on movement, exchange and connections created by historic monuments.
Historic buildings can foster exchange between people, and structures that serve more than just a functional purpose give us a sense of identity and exceptional aesthetic appeal.
Open Monument Day offers an opportunity to network – with visitors, heritage conservationists and monument owners.

A look back
Since 2022, there has once again been a regular Heritage Day with open monuments and churches.
The Open Monument Days in 2020 and 2021 were largely held digitally due to the coronavirus pandemic.
