Apprentices and students from the city of Chemnitz are welcome

This year, 44 apprentices and students are starting their apprenticeships or dual study programmes with Chemnitz City Council. They were officially welcomed today by Mayor Ralph Burghart.

In total, around 740 applications were received for the apprenticeship vacancies advertised by the City of Chemnitz.

The breakdown of the number of apprentices and students is as follows:

  • eight students in the higher general administrative service aiming for a ‘Bachelor of Laws’ degree
  • two students in Social Work, aiming for a ‘Bachelor of Arts’ degree
  • one student in Digital Administration, aiming for a ‘Bachelor of Science’
  • one student in civil engineering, aiming for a ‘Diplom-Ingenieur’
  • 18 administrative assistants
  • one specialist employee for swimming pool facilities
  • two gardeners specialising in horticulture and landscaping
  • two paramedics
  • one animal keeper
  • one surveying technician
  • seven trainee fire officers

With the new apprentices and students, a total of around 160 young people will be training in the city of Chemnitz in September 2026.

Applications for the start of apprenticeships and degree programmes in 2027

Applications are still being accepted for apprenticeship and degree programmes starting in 2027.
