International Youth Day on 12 August
Since 2023, many partners have been working together to raise awareness of this day and celebrate it with various activities and events. For example, DIY workshops run by the Punkt West youth club and a DJ workshop organised by the “Enter the Music” project invite young people to give them a go.
Mayor Sven Schulze is also taking the time to chat with young people from Chemnitz: at a youth consultation session from 3 pm in the youth section of Chemnitz City Library. No booking is required.
In Konkordiapark, from 4 pm, young people can try their hand at being a DJ, show off their skills on slacklines, pedal away on the smoothie bike, spray graffiti or simply relax and enjoy the day.
From 8.15 pm, they can really get pedalling at the first “Urban Sports Movie Night” at the Fahrradkino. The film being shown is a classic among skateboarding films: “Machotaildrop”.
