The system was developed in collaboration between the City of Chemnitz, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences and the Bonly development team.
What makes it special is that participation in this system is completely free of charge for retailers. Unlike many comparable city voucher schemes, participating outlets do not incur any system or participation fees. This means that both small, owner-run shops and larger businesses benefit from a straightforward way to get started and an increase in regional spending power.
The voucher can currently be redeemed at more than 20 venues across the hospitality, retail and cultural sectors. The number of participating outlets will be steadily expanded over the coming weeks.
The “Chemnitz City” voucher is aimed at anyone who wants to give a regional gift whilst supporting Chemnitz city centre. Whether for a birthday, as a thank-you, for Christmas or simply as a small token of appreciation. Each voucher can be redeemed flexibly at participating outlets and supports local businesses with every purchase.
Available digitally and as a printed voucher
The “Chemnitz City” voucher is available from the Chemnitz Tourist Information Centre and conveniently online atwww.chemnitzcitygutschein.de. There, interested parties will also find an up-to-date list of all participating outlets, as well as further information about the voucher scheme.
Tax-efficient non-cash benefit for businesses
At the same time, the scheme offers businesses an attractive way to show their appreciation for their staff. The Chemnitz City voucher can be used as a tax-advantaged benefit in kind, combining modern employee benefits with genuine regional added value. The credit remains entirely within Chemnitz, thereby directly strengthening the local economy. Further information for employers and businesses can be found atwww.bonly.eu.
