Joint closing ride for STADTRADELN

On 17 September at 5 pm, starting from the station forecourt

On Thursday 17 September, from 5 pm, anyone interested is invited to join in and cycle together: on the final ride of this year’s international ‘STADTRADELN’ cycling campaign organised by the Climate Alliance. The #chemnitzdrehtamradtour sets off from the forecourt of Chemnitz Central Station.

Before setting off, DJ Shusta will provide music and help participants warm up. The tour, which is around 13 kilometres long, will then take participants through Chemnitz at a leisurely pace. The route is family-friendly and suitable for children aged eight and above. Some sections run along unpaved paths.

The ride ends at around 6.15 pm back on the forecourt of the railway station. There, DJ Shusta will provide musical accompaniment to round off the event.

No registration is required, and participation is free of charge. A roadworthy bicycle and a cycling helmet are recommended.

The STADTRADELN campaign runs until 20 September. Until then, you can continue to collect kilometres and add them to your total.

Rally

Just last Sunday, around 150 STADTRADELN participants rode into the stadium to the cheers of spectators at the Sattelfest at the Jutta-Müller Ice Sports Centre. Prior to this, they had set off on eleven different routes from Chemnitz, the surrounding region and Dresden.

Inside the stadium, the cyclists waited for the peloton of the European Peace Ride. Following its arrival, both groups took to the track together once more and completed a lap of the stadium. The gathering marked the conclusion of the rally and sent a joint message in support of climate-friendly mobility, peace and European unity.
