Adult Education Centre: The winter term begins on 7 September – free taster sessions on 14 and 15 September

On Monday 7 September, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre begins its winter term. With around 640 courses on offer, there is once again a wide range of opportunities to learn, try things out and discover new things. The varied programme includes not only numerous courses but also lectures, workshops and guided tours. As many as 89 courses are starting in the first week of the term.

Many of the courses address current topics and are tailored to new trends, shifting areas of interest and changing learning needs. The course ‘Advent in Peace – an Evening for the Heart and Senses’, for example, focuses on relaxation and cooking together. The course ‘Finding Balance in Everyday Life: Mindful Working and Living’ combines theoretical insights with practical exercises such as body scans, breathing exercises and meditation. Another key focus is on the topic of artificial intelligence. Those wishing to discover new languages, on the other hand, can, for example, learn Ancient Hebrew.

In addition, two exhibitions complement the term’s programme:

  • ‘Nine Eleven: 25 Years On’ features photographs by Anja Wartenberg documenting the immediate experience of New York following the attacks of 11 September 2001. The exhibition can be viewed at the Adult Education Centre from 2 September to 31 October 2026.
  • With the exhibition “Leseland DDR”, the Adult Education Centre also invites visitors on a fascinating journey through time into the literature and everyday culture of the GDR – from crime novels and fairy tales to science fiction and cookery books. It can be seen at the Adult Education Centre from 7 September to 2 October 2026.
