A ban on alcohol consumption will come into force on Thomas-Mann-Platz from 10 July. Pupils from Chemnitz successfully entered hydrogen-powered model vehicles into the H2 Grand Prix World Final in Switzerland. The teams from the Dr. Wilhelm André Gymnasium came sixth and tenth, and were also awarded a prize for the most innovative vehicle.

Primary school enrolment available online for the first time from 1 August

From 1 August, it will be possible to register for primary school online for the first time. Parents of children starting school in the 2027/2028 academic year can register their child online or continue to attend the in-person registration sessions at Chemnitz’s primary schools.
